Food Review: Casali Schoko-Bananen from Austria

I have added a new group to the blog - food and beverage - because I have noticed an increase in the number of food photos I am taking, and because I like to eat and there are so many interesting foods that I run across in Switzerland and on my travels, like these Casali Schoko-Bananen, or chocolate bananas.

I have seen these a few times in Austria and during my work trip there this week I decided to buy a box to try. I figured that the banana inside these dark, banana shaped chocolates would be the synthetic-banana flavored, think pudding type, but to my wonder and amazement, it is real banana in there. And it is DELICIOUS. While eating my third banana of the night (don't stress, there are 24 in there!), I reread the box and it says they are real Chiquita bananas even.

I wonder how they keep the banana in there fresh when I can't keep a banana fresh on the counter for more than 48 hours... that is increadible.

Please, next time you are in Austria, buy some Schoko-Bananen for yourself... and a box or two for me while you are at all.

A former coworker of mine bought the exact treat from her homeland-Yogoslavia. It's really delicious.

Real banana? That's wacky. I would have expected banana-flavored marshmallow or something.

Oh wow, I love these and didn't even realise that they were real banana, though I did wonder... now I like them even more!

I must say, I looked these up on another blog, a chocoholic blog or whatnot, and they say that it is only 6% real banana. But even so, they taste great. Not at all like the fake banana marshmallow you would expect. It really is a scientific culinary breakthrough!
