Continued...12 Reasons You Will Hate Me Tomorrow... or how I ate my way through the US

As promised, the rest of my gluttonous trip across the US (part 1 here)... what is it about food that makes us feel so at home? And so full! :)

7. 100% ALL BEEF HOT DOGS! Everyone knows I love a good hot dog (don't read into that...). Whether it is a 99 cent version at Sam's club or one down at the hot dog cafe, like this one was in Nashville, TN, you cannot go wrong with an all beef dog. This one was special with pickles, peppers, cucumber and other bits and pieces and it will remain in my dreams as perfection. This bad boy was also featured here.

8. Real Lemonade. I am not talking powder stuff or Sprite. I mean real lemons with sugar and water. Heaven. This was from the Cracker Barrel and the girl kept those free refills a comin'. At least 4 of those new extra pounds are from liquid indulgence. Oh yeah...
9. A real sandwich. Oh yeah. I believe Chantal talked about the lack of American style sandwiches in Switzerland and boy is she right. I had a hard time choosing which sandwich to get at the deli in Nashville - the turkey rueben, the roast beef with horseradish, or should I go all Thanksgiving on a bun and do turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberries and gravy all in one. Decisions, decisions. In the end, roast beef won out and it was fab. Don't forget the big dill pickle, too, or else I might have to hurt someone.

10. Chinese a la PF Changs. Something is magical about this place. Perhaps it is the fact that a lot of their meals are 14562 calories per serving? Na... that is not it. Either way, I love Chinese food here. Nuf said. My brother's favorite is the Dan Dan Noodles. Oh man is it good. Not pictured, but good. This is mongolian beef. (In Zurich, if you want Asian, I recommend Tiffins Asian Kitchen in Seefeld... read my write up about it on Spotted by Locals.)

11. Hot fudge sundae at Sonic. I know you can get hot fudge sundaes here, at McDonald's, but there is a wonderful Americana about this - the vanilla, the chocolate, the single cherry... nuts? No I am not.. oh you mean, do I want nuts? No thanks, but it is entirely up to you.

12. Finally, let's end this right with some Cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. Altogether now... YUM! I like the original... I went all out and had it with strawberries and it was also delish. Now this is real cheesecake, not this stuff...

Now if you'll excuse me... I have to go run a half-marathon and work all this off... then again, I'll leave that up to Jace. He is running one in Wintertur this Sunday!

Cheesecake factory... oh man.. that is one of my must-go-to places whenever I go back to the States. One slice of Crazy Carrot Cake Cheesecake lasts me 4 desserts!

We went to the cheesecake factory too and I was too full to eat a piece! That killed me!

Kudos to you for taking so many pics of great food! I've never been to half of the places you have visited.

You do know how to put your finger on the pulse of a culture, don't you! This astute America-by-stomach study lends all the more credence to your coverage of all things Swiss ;)

The Cheesecake Factory is the one place my wife and I want to eat before moving to Switz. We love their salads and of course, their cheesecake. The Hiltl in Zurich awesome, but for the price of a Cheesecake Factory salad, you get a couple of dolmas.

I am glad there are so many other food lovers out there. Thanks for all the wonderful comments.

Don M. - that might just be the nicest thing anyone has said about the blog. Thanks! ;)

Nomadic - make sure you get some cheesecake with that salad or you will be kicking yourself later! ;)

I am very jealous right now. And thanks for the call-out, by the way.
