We are checking out Basel on Saturday... any tips? Hot spots? Restaurant suggestions? Thanks for your help and of course I will post on it next week!

Gosh, I lived there for 8 years as a kid, and can't even think how to narrow it down for you. One simple thing: Do take a ride on one of the four pedestrian river ferries, each named after characters in one of Basel's traditional festivals. They are attached to a cable and are driven across by the river's current - very clever. The "Leu" (Lion) crosses at the base of the Muenster church, also a nice attraction worth checking out. The ferries are close enough that you can walk to the next one, or cross back at the historic Mittlere Bruecke (middle bridge).

I'm glad you posted this. :)
I'm planning to go there on Sunday for Art Basel. Are you going to it?

The Tinguely museum is definitely worth the hike.

Are you headed to Art Basel?
I was thinking of checking that out Saturday or Sunday.
